Driff went into the game strong with an unfortunate injury in the warm up, 11 players meant everyone was going to be working their socks off. The opposition started push back strong but our forwards started stronger and with the support of midfielders Hannah Southwell, Phoebe Goodlass and a few tight presses by the forwards Bronwyn Walker-rouse, Clementine Bottomley and Polly burgess. One of Harrogates 16’s was intercepted by Clemmie and driven into the back of the goal. Bringing the score to 1-0 at half time. The ladies started the second half with confidence but also a few injured player’s. The defence of Meg Sellars, Amy Moore, Lucy Welburn and Fiona Tuplin working hard to stop the opposition entering our D and battled hard with her strong play and communication in the middle. After many amazing saves from keeper Shanie Burton, Harrogate unfortunately scored in a 1-1. A tired driff side knew there was minutes left so fought hard and strong. However, another speedy break meant we conceded a short corner as the full time whistle blew, luckily defenders Amy, Meg, Phoebe and Lucy along with goalie Shanie stopped the ball from making it to the goal and the game ended 1-1.
