Driffield ladies 2nd team played their second match of the season at home against Ben Rhydding W3. The opponents got off to a quick start and pushed up the field but Driffield defence held strong and kept them out of the D. Kirsty, Lucy, Charlotte & Meg passing the ball to break up their forwards. Some great work from the mid field Amy, Hannah A & Hannah S working tirelessly taking the ball back in the right direction, forwards Polly, Bella & Zoe took the ball to the opponents D where Hannah Southwell struck the ball into the goal giving Driffield a good early lead. The team worked hard with Lucinda making some great tackles, Clemmie pushing the ball up the wing using the space with some great passes from Phoebe. Ben Rhydding were pushing hard to get an equaliser and were awarded numerous short corners but they could not beat the solid defence & Shanie in goal. Driffield kept their cool and made some impressive runs to the opponents end. At the final whistle the score was a well deserved 1-0 win for Driffield.
